Out of Obscurity includes both of Shawn O’Brien’s short stories.
“Prodigal” is a rewriting of the parable you all know and love. Set in a post apocalyptic world, Prodigal tries to make it on his own only to fail miserably. He realizes quickly that he will not be able to make it on his own. Luckily, an entourage of rough edged friends let him into their group. They teach him what he needs to know and he finds a new family.
“New World Order” is a story of political espionage where no one is safe. Loosely inspired by recent events and the political climate. The political underworld is a dangerous labyrinth not for the weak hearted. Even those backed by the right people still need to look behind their back.
